The Honey Deuce makes HOW MUCH money?
Easy ways to go viral, US Open beverage report, and the guava pink shower head
It turns out that some of you aren’t getting this in your inbox, so I am BEGGING you to go to your Spam folder, find this newsletter, and move it to your inbox. I’m going to publish this every Tuesday-ish so I hope that works with your schedule. I know I’m already asking for a lot but I’m going to ask for one more thing since you’re already reading this. If you enjoy this newsletter, please share it with your friends or family or coworkers or whomever. I’m only human, and my monkey brain is motivated by followers and subscribers there’s nothing I can do about that. So share this. Thank you.

Jolie x Ceremonia partnering is a match made in heaven. Last week, the two revealed a guava pink shower head as a limited-edition item. I love the idea of these two brands coming together, but I don’t know about this - do these brands enough loyalty to create a “collector’s item” that people will rush to buy? Can this collab convert undecided Jolie or Ceremonia buyers? I doubt it. Can’t imagine the ROI is looking too hot on this one.
A really easy way for a company to “go viral” and win favorability is to just showcase any impressive employee benefits. Dr. Bronner’s is killing it with this content style. Why it works → people love to comment things like “I want to work here!” and “This is how it’s done!” and before you know it you have 2M views and 7000 job applications to parse through.
I find it super weird that Allure has headshots of their editorial team on their homepage, and somehow it weirdly makes me like the publication a bit more.
Tech 👩💻
The polyamorous dating app Feeld sponsored an off-Broadway play about polyamory. This blend of tech and theater to explore modern relationships is interesting. I like Feeld’s approach of infiltrating niche communities, though it doesn’t seem scalable. I’ve always been fascinated by how this app has been able to grow so much with such a taboo concept, and I am dying to see their metrics.
Care.com agreed to pay $8.5 million to settle FTC charges that they misled customers about background checks for caregivers. Yikes. source
Nikita Bier (tech man make teen app grow fast) went on Lenny’s Podcast, and it’s an excellent listen. HIGHLY recommend for product marketers and early-stage founders. Wish I’d had this when I worked for a consumer social app!
Apple will announce a new iPhone, Apple Watch, and Airpods on Sep 9th. source

Joe & The Juice keeps posting these 2000s-style paparazzi shots and I don’t like it. Straight out of the Starbucks marketing playbook.
The Honey Deuce is the US Open’s signature cocktail, and it seems to go viral on RecipeTok every summer. But why is no one talking about the financials behind it? Look at these numbers!!
I’ve never been to a Taco Bell Cantina, but apparently the slushy machines let you choose your booze mix-in. This is the future. source
